Domaine Guigal is based in the Northern Rhone town of Ampuis where the family business is today run by Marcel Guigal. 'E Guigal'; as seen on the labels, stands for Marcel's father Etienne, who founded the business back in 1946. All together they boast a huge range of amazing wines; forging a world-wide reputation for the exceptional single vineyard Cote-Roties of La Mouline, La Turque and La Landonne, without forgetting the historic Chateau d'Ampuis - the '97 vintages are particularly legendary!

The attitude to winemaking is one adopted by most of the world's greatest winemakers: low yields, organic viticulture and little or no intervention in the cellar. Robert Parker comments that 'in the past 20 years I have spent visiting wineries and vignerons, I have never seen a producer so fanatical about quality as Marcel Guigal'. With the wines' hallmark voluptuous velvet texture and sweet tannins, Marcel Guigal is arguably the most driven wine producer in the world who has turned red Rhone into a real collectible.
