Les Forts de Latour is the second wine of Chateau Latour in Pauillac, with only 40% of the crop going into the grand vin, the old vines give this wine real backbone to go with its style of intense, mouthwatering cassis fruit and pure minerality. The Wine Spectator's James Suckling recently awarded the 2005 94pts; indicating this is without doubt a wine of Second Growth Bordeaux quality. With second wines often offering good value, this is a star in Bordeaux not to be missed! Cabernet Sauvignon is slightly higher in content than the Merlot, giving aromas such as black plum, dark chocolate and pencil shavings. Overall it has the viscosity and sheen found only in wines made to perfection.
