Producer Information

As one of the Medoc's largest classified growth vineyards, in the last twenty years at the Chateau has seen many changes under the ownership of the Japanese Suntory Group. In fact, over $40 million has now been invested and this, alongside the vision of winemaker-director Marcel Ducasse, has seen a transformation in the fortunes of this once underperforming Chateau. In modernising equipment and introducing rigorous selection standards, as well as introducing a second wine - ‘Les Fiefs' - Ducasse has ensured that quality for the first wine remains not only high, but still improving. Now planted at 66 percent Cabernet Sauvignon, 27 percent Merlot and 7 percent Petit Verdot, the blended wine will then see 18 months in 55 percent new oak. As its vineyards continue to mature, there is little doubt that this wine will evolve and improve even further in the coming years.
