Tasting Notes
An intense nose includes aromas of caramelised fruits as well as a certain freshness. On the palate the wine evokes pink grapefruit and dried fruits, finishing on a lovely sweet spice note.
Producer Information
A true piece of French history, Veuve Clicquot was established in 1772 by Philippe Clicquot-Muiron. Following the death of Philippe Clicquot-Muiron's and also later his son Francois Clicquot, Francois widow, now known as Madam Clicquot carried on the Champagne production for many years with great success.
The house played an important role in establishing champagne as a favored drink of haute bourgeoisie and nobility throughout Europe. Producing Champagne of such quality for hundreds of years, Veuve Clicqout and its iconic yellow label, are now a symbol of the decadent world of Champagne, and is well known for its body and class.
