Producer Information
Interest in 'Grower's Champagnes', such as Albert Beerens, is definitely on the rise in the UK. It is a family owned firm with 6.5ha of mainly red grapes in the Aube. We have been drinking and selling their wines for many years and were delighted when Albert's daughter Anne-Laure came to work with us in 1999 as part of her Masters degree. Now in charge of operations, Anne-Laure works tirelessly to keep up the high standards set by her father and the quality has never been better.
Regional info.
Located in the Côte des Bar, southern Champagne region. These vineyards south of the town of Troyes form a peak with Bar-sur-Aube at the top and a line along Bar-sur-Seine & les Riceys at the bottom. The soil is the same as the rest of Champagne. However, the climate is closer to Burgundy.
