Flattering nose of red fruits (cherries, strawberries, raspberries, blackcurrants) together with hints of sour sweets. Well balanced, lively and bright, with nice volume and notes of grapefruit and red fruit buds. Delicate and refreshing.
Vinification Details.
Fermentation is conducted in temperature controlled stainless steel. The wine is then allowed to rest on its lees for 4 months before being cold stabilised.
Producer Information
Andre Lurton is our new key partner in Bordeaux, one of the oldest and most respected families only selling wines from their own Chateau. Chateau Bonnet lies to the North of the Entre-Deux-Mers, on the clay-chalk slopes of the commune of Grezillac, overlooking the Dordogne valley some 10km south of Saint-Emilion. The estate dates back to the 17th century. When Andre Lurton took over in 1956, it comprised 30 hectares of vineyard, which he immediately undertook to renovate and develop. Today, half Bonnet's production is devoted to a highly popular dry white (AOC Entre-Deux-Mers), a blend of Sauvignon, Semillon and Muscadelle grapes, carefully vinified to preserve the freshness and bouquet of these varietals. The other half is composed of classic red varietals - Merlots, Cabernet Francs and Cabernet Sauvignons - producing noteworthy clarets widely held to be superior to the general run of the appellation.

The Entre-Deux-Mers, "between two rivers", is bounded to the North by the Dordogne, to the South by the Garonne. The influence of the Atlantic tidal flow on these two waterways continues inland for 150km as the crow flies from ocean to the East of the Gironde. The region has been famous for many years for its dry white wines. It also produces excellent reds, though only the whites qualify for the Entre-Deux-Mers Appellation, the clarets being classified under AOC Bordeaux.
