Tasting Notes

This is a delicious, immediately appealing white Burgundy in a rich style with creamy flavours that are balanced by a good freshness. This has the seamless texture that is Roux' trademark.

Vinification Details.

Hand harvested, the wine produced at Domaine Roux combined age-old traditions with today's most advanced technologies (especially in terms of temperature control, analysis, and inspection / sampling). Traditional fermentation on lees in stainless steel tanks during 6 months.

Producer Information

Based in the village of St Aubin, the Roux family own 70 hectares of vineyards in the Cote de Nuits, Cote de Beaune and Cote Chalonnaise. Domaine Roux dates back to 1885, and the current generation, brothers Sebastien and Matthieu, have propelled Domaine Roux into one of the leading producers in Burgundy. The Roux brand is distributed in 58 countries worldwide and the wines have been highly rated by publications including Wine Spectator, Decanter and Guide Hachette.

The domaine owns vineyards in most of the main appellations, all the way up to Grand Cru. Particular strengths include St. Aubin, Pommard and Corton Charlemagne, while they also produce wines in Rully, Santenay, Chassagne, Puligny, Meursault, Beaune, Mercurey, Aloxe, Chambolle, Vougeot and Gevrey.

Often winning awards and distinctions for their fine wines, most recently they have been awarded 3 and 4 stars (Best Value award) from Decanter Magazine for the Chambolle-Musigny Villages 2006 and 2007. The Premier Cru, "les Charmes" has been awarded a fantastic 5 stars.

Regional info.

384 separate villages throughout the Burgundy wine region are permitted to produce Bourgogne Blanc wine. Given that Burgundy is cooler than most New World wine regions, the wine has greater acidity and a sleeker overall feel on the palate, making it a versatile partner with a gamut of foods.
