Tasting Notes
Striking and vivid red in colour, with several punnets worth of red berry fruit on the nose and palate. Soft and fresh with light, ripe tannins and crisp acidity, this is a benchmark Bojo.
Vinification Details.
The wines were made using the traditional carbonic maceration method that produces soft, fruity wines with plenty of colour and flavour but soft, easy-going tannins.
Producer Information
The oldest co-operative in Beaujolais, Cave de Fleurie are responsible for making over a third of all AC Fleurie wine on behalf of its 320 members. Despite its size, the Cave's totally quality focussed and represents very good value. The wines are fresh, attractive and bright with clean fruit flavours - archetypal Beaujolais, in other words. Their move to screwcap for the 2005 vintage, at Bibendum's request, was another welcome innovation.
Regional info.
Hand-harvested Gamay sourced from growers across Fleurie's granitic soils. Among the Beaujolais "crus", Fleurie is sometimes called "the Queen of Beaujolais" to emphasize its delicate flavour and natural distinction.
