Tasting Notes

Pale green/gold. Herbaceous, citrus nose with a hint of apple. Fuller and richer on the palate than the nose would suggest. Almost a tropical fruit flavour with a zingy minerality and freshness.

Vinification Details.

Andre Neveu has been crafting fine Sancerre for over 5 decades. His estate seamlessly integrates traditional methods and the best modern equipment to bring out the very best from his grapes, creating a rich, elegant wines consistently praised by experts. Cold fermented to preserve freshness of fruit

Producer Information

Part-winemakers, part-cheesemakers, Valerie and Thomas Dezat produce a full, but still elegant, style of Sancerre with plenty of Sauvignon Blanc fruit character. The Monts Damnes, their top cuvee, has a weight and concentration that sets it apart from many of its peers, with a real 'Grand Cru' feel to it. But any of the wines will be a fine match for one of the sharp, goaty Crottin de Chavignols they make when not busy with the vines.

Regional info.

Sancerre is the classic wine of the Loire, providing the perfect expression of the bright green zesty tang of the Sauvignon blanc grape. Located in Chavignol, an area very famous for goat's cheese as well as wine. All vineyards are on the site opposite the family house/winery.
