Tasting Notes
Robert Parker
Score: 89-91 / 100 Robert Parker2010: A dense purple color along with rich minerality and sweet notes of boysenberries and raspberries are found in this 2010. The irrepressible Michel Rolland (the winemaking consultant at Phelan-Segur) has fashioned an impressively pure, deep, classic St.-Estephe with a supple personality as well as robust tannins. Cellar it for 2-3 years and drink it over the following 12-15 years.
Jancis Robinson
Score: 18 / 20Dark crimson. Nicely, convincingly integrated. Lovely luscious, supple fruit. Really great supple stuff with the undertow of St-Estèphe minerality. A really exciting wine. Very long.
Bibendum
Score: 16 / 20Very bright, fruity attack with lots of energy but the structure closes in quickly leaving the finish a little bit dusty and dry. Very good weight and concentration but it will probably always be just a little bit burly.
James Suckling
Score: 92-93 / 100This sneaks up on you, with blackberry and spices such as nutmeg and cloves. Full spices, with currants and berries. Builds on the palate like a wave. Best ever.
