Tasting Notes

Violets, blackberrys and blackcurrants on the nose with a wonderfully spicy, peppery character on the palate. Layers of ripe red fruit with juicy, smooth tannins make it it perfect with classic bistro food.

Vinification Details.

Traditional vinification, with a long maceration and maturation over a six month period The grapes are fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks.

Producer Information

La Serre is part of Foncalieu, a large, quality-focussed co-operative based near the ancient city of Carcasonne in the Languedoc. With a vast array of suppliers, Foncalieu's great strength is its flexibility which allows Bibendum's own winemaker Belinda Kleining to be very involved in the production of our wines. Working closely with head winemaker Nicolas Rappeneau and his team, Belinda is able to ensure that the quality, consistency and value of the wines meet our high standards every year.
