Producer Information

Made by Vinicola Hidalgo, La Gitana is the brand leader in Manzanilla and has become famous around the world for the Joaquin Turina painting of the gypsy girl on the label. The relatively small family-owned Hildalgo firm started to make Sherry way back in 1792 and have been based on the same premises ever since. Unusually for Sherry, they use only estate grown fruit allowing them complete control of production quality from the growing of the grapes through to the solera system. Fresh, delicate and light, La Gitana is a benchmark Manzanilla with a typically tangy flavour so popular with the locals that it is the biggest selling wine in Seville.
