Tasting Notes
Intense ruby colour with attractive and elegant notes of fresh red berry fruits and violets. Great balance, clean and refreshing finish.
Vinification Details.
The grapes are picked in mid April and are taken in 350 kg plastic crate to the winery, where they are de-stemmed and placed in a stainless steel tanks for 18 to 36 hours at 9C. This vital phase gives the juice a vivid and attractive rose colour. The juice is then drained off the skins & fermented with selected yeast strains at 16C.
Producer Information
Forged from several mountainous valleys along the southwest coast of South America, Chile has seen a renaissance in its agricultural heritage with wine. VC Family Estates, the winemaking arm of the Corpora Group, whose wine portfolio includes brands like Gracia de Chile, Agustinos, Porta and Veranda, are harnessing the unique climate and dramatic terroir (mountains, valleys, proximity to the ocean) to make world class wines.
The winemaking team here has a particularly Burgundian accent: Consultant is Pascal Marchand, ex winemaker at Domaine de la Vougeraie, and Veranda is his own project. It is little wonder perhaps that Chardonnay & Pinot Noir seems to be something of an obsession, including new clones of Pinot Noir being developed in a joint venture between VC Family Estates, the University of Concepcion and UC Davis in California.
