Tasting Notes

Well-balanced Aussie Chardy with creamy, butterscotch oak, peach and melon fruit and plenty of freshly squeezes citrus on the finish.

Vinification Details.

The Stonier Chardonnay was 80% barrel fermented in predominantly old oak with lees stirring and complete malolactic fermentation, with 20% fermented in stainless steel maintaining the fresh, powerful fruit characters typical of this wine.

Producer Information

Stonier is located on the Mornington Peninsula across Port Philip Bay from Melbourne and is home to one of the most stunning views in Aussie wine: whale watching with a glass of Pinot in your hand whilst sitting on the veranda is the perfect way to unwind after a hard day in the vineyards. Stonier handcraft sublime Pinot Noir and Chardonnay in a cool climate that is perfect for these varietals, with the Reserve level wines having a justifiable claim to be among Australia's best examples.

Regional info.

Stonier is situated in Victoria's picturesque Mornington Peninsula. The first Chardonnay was planted in 1978 and Pinot Noir in 1982. Over more than 25 years later, Stonier has developed a reputation as a producer of exceptional Chardonnay and Pinot Noir.

At the heart of Stonier lies a meticulous approach to viticulture and winemaking. A desire to reflect the imprint of each site, through subtle variations in flavour and texture, interweaving these differences to form elegant wines of seamless complexity has earned Stonier a place amongst the best Pinot Noir and Chardonnay producers in Australia.
