Tasting Notes
Vibrant lemon, melon and pink grapefruit aromas with a smidgen of toasty oak. The palate is crisp and fruity with more pink grapefruit and a subtle creamy texture.
Vinification Details.
After a gentle destemming and crushing, the grapes are macerated in a cold environment for a few hours in self-emptying vats. Followed by a natural decanting of the solids, the clean grape juice is seived for fermentation at controlled temperature in stainless steel tanks (90%) or in French oak (10%). Both wines had been matured"sur lies"for 5 months.
Producer Information
Based in Montsant, the small underrated wine region that encircles Priorat, Etim produce some of the best value wines we list. The wines are classic modern Spain: fresh, ripe, forward and full of delicious fruit. The entry-level red, white and rosado trio are classic summer favourites while the Old Vine Grenache and Syrah cuvees give some top Rhone wines a run for the money. The whole range is well worth a look.
Regional info.
AGRICOLA FALSET-MARSA is the result of the merging of the cooperatives of Falset and Marsa, which at the time helped to reinforce and to culminate the project to improve the company, both at the level of production and elaboration. It is situated in the DO of Monstant (which horseshoes around the Priorat DO), a region that owes its international fame to the grapes it cultivates and to the wines it elaborates. The wine making here is traditional... the carthusian monks having introduced new methods of making wine in the 12th century, these methods today one still respected. Over eighty years of production and constant innovation has allowed them to offer a consistently high level of quality in their products
