Tasting Notes

Bright, fresh and floral Viognier with tell-tale jasmine, peach and apricot aromas and a concentrated, fruity palate with depth and spice. Crisp acidity rounds out the finish beautifully.

Vinification Details.

The wine is fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks and spends two month on its lees to add weight and depth before bottling. No oak is used at any point.

Producer Information

Founded by Pedro Martin in 1999, Casa de la Ermita is at the forefront of the quality revolution that has swept through Spain in recent years. Using modern, temperature-controlled vinification techniques, the estate is able to coak deep, rich flavours from the old Monastrell vines found in the Jumilla. The result is modern, fruity wines but with all the warm, herby, spicy notes you'd expect from Mediterranean reds. In addition to the traditional Monastrell, the estate has planted grapes such as Cabernet Sauvignon, Petit Verdot and even Viognier, all of which are proving to make very exciting wines.

Regional info.

Situated in the south-east of Spain, in the region of Murcia, 1 hour inland from Alicante in the heart of the Carche Valley, a protected natural park. The area has erratic climatic conditions.
