Tasting Notes
Bright rose petal colour with aromas of strawberry, jasmine and roses. The palate has plenty of crisp just-squeezed citrus alongside the juicier cherry and strawberry fruit.
Vinification Details.
The grapes are crushed and given a short maceration on the skins to release colour and flavour. The pink juice is then fermented in temperature controlled stainless steel tanks with no oak used at any point.
Producer Information
Bodegas Criadores de Rioja typifies twenty-first century Rioja in its careful balancing of tradition and innovation. The winery was established in 2000 with a view to modernise the production of Rioja wines whilst working with the scores of small, local growers to make wines that reflect the quality and history of Rioja. Under the careful eye of young winemaker Paloma Redondo, the all-singing, all-dancing winery is a palace of stainless steel - with oak barrels being used sparingly - but the wines themselves are true to the region, and eschew the vogue for an 'international style'.
Regional info.
The Criadores de Rioja winery is one of the most modern wineries in Rioja and makes a great range of well priced Rioja wines to suit all tastes. This winery was established in 2000 to create a winery capable of making wines of the quality and volume necessary to export them to clients all over the world. By creating a successful and commercially aware business, this winery has helped to guarantee the survival of hundreds of small grape growers in the heart of the Rioja region, and in turn to help them invest in their vineyards to increase the quality of the grapes they supply.
Spain's Rioja region - which runs along the Ebro River in northern Spain - is best known more for red Tempranillo, though white & rose wines are also produced and exported in more limited amounts.
