Tasting Notes
Golden colour with honeyed aromas and notes of dried fruit and peaches. Luscious and rich with sweet sultana, apricot and spice on the palate cut by a streak of minerality and crisp acidity.
Vinification Details.
After harvesting the grapes were dried naturally in ventilated lofts for five months to concentrate the grapes. After pressing the must was fermented using natural yeasts in old oak barrels. The wine fermented at 14-16C slowly over 25-30 days. It was then matured on its lees in barrel for 18 months.
Producer Information
There are family-run boutique wineries, and then there is Suavia. Everything at this estate is done by one of the four Tessari sisters who have taken over from their parents. With plenty of hard work, Arianna, Meri, Valentina and Alessandra have taken Suavia on to the next level where it can rightly be regarded as one of the region's very best wineries. These wines are aromatic, lively and fresh with a fabulous concentration of flavour. They will make you look at Soave in a whole new light.
Regional info.
The four charming Tessari sisters are quietly making some of the best white wines in the Veneto. The family's 12 hectares in the heart of the Classico zone are planted on dark, basalt-based volcanic soils which give their wines immense personality.
Suavia is an unsung hero of our Italian portfolio and can be spoken of in the same league as such superstars as Pieropan or Inama.
The grapes are sourced from two of Suavia's vineyards: the Monte Foscarinetto and the Monte Castellaro. Both are located in the hills of the Soave Classico area with cooler climates than many part of Soave.
