Tasting Notes

Elegant Nebbiolo nose showing lots of age complexity. The tannins are the backbone of the wine, allowing it to be the perferct companion to a varietay of flavourful and strong dishes.

Vinification Details.

Maceration takes place over a period of 8 -12 days, at a temperature 28-33 °C with pump over and delastages. Barrel ageing is 12 to 18 months in a blend of used and new French oak barrels.

The soil here consists of Calcareous Marls, with Continental climate. The average age of the vines at Riva Leone is around 20 - 40 years old, with a vine density of 4.500/5.500 per hectare.
