Tasting Notes
Intense pink colour with purple tinges. Fresh strawberry and peach aromas, well balanced on the palate with good structure and a crisp, spicy finish.
Vinification Details.
Made from 90% Sangiovese and 10% Syrah the grapes are destemmed, lightly crushed and transferred to stainless steel tanks for maceration. After racking fermentation takes places at a temperature not exceeding 20 °C and the wine is then stored underground in constant low temperature tanks to preserve the characteristic aromas before bottling.
Producer Information
The Ceppaiano Estate is an important part of the Castellani family and Bibendum is lucky enough to be working with them in coastal Tuscany, an exciting area which is giving new impulse to the reputation of these great wines. The vineyard is located on the edges of the Arno River about 25km from the Tyrrhenian Sea, on sandy soils rich in minerals and fossils of marine origin. The proximity of the Mediterranean, long summers, marine breezes and the light soils of the coast, allow the production of wines with great complexity and concentration that add an essential dimension to already great Tuscan wines.
Regional info.
The Ceppaiano vineyards are situated on the banks of the river Arno at the heart of an exciting new area of coastal Tuscany close to the Tyrrhenian Sea, with sandy soils rich in minerals and fossils.
