Tasting Notes

Smooth, ripe Chianti Classico in a modern style; juicy black cherries, blackberries, cinnamon spice, vanilla and chocolate abound. The ripe, bold tannins and crisp Sangiovese acidity add the all important backbone.

Vinification Details.

Traditional vinification method were used, followed by 18 months in French oak barriques and 1 year in bottle prior to release.

Producer Information

Since 1903 Castellani has been exporting its estate wines from Tuscany. Castellani work hard within the vienyard to ensure the best soil types, microclimates and light exposure to the grapes. Sophisticated enological techniques and an intensive research programme on different clones, have allowed them to valorise the great Tuscan vines, such as Sangiovese.

The Campomaggio estate is right in the centre of the 'Golden Triangle' of Chianti Classico, in between Radda, Greve & Castellina in Chianti. The 30+ ha of over 20 years old vines are located on the sunny sides of the hills with an ideal topsoil of galestro and alberese, producing a wonderful single estate Chianti Classico.
