Tasting Notes
Bright with greenish reflections. An intense fragrance of sweet lemons with notes of apple and wild flowers. Dry and full of character with a distinct acidity on the palate.
Vinification Details.
Soft-crushed grapes and free-run must are processed at low temperatures. Clarification at controlled temperature at around 14/15C. The clean product is filtered and fermented at 16 -18C. When fermentation is over the wine is stored underground at a constant low temperature in tanks before bottling.
Producer Information
Since 1903 Castellani has been exporting its estate wines from Tuscany. Castellani work hard within the vienyard to ensure the best soil types, microclimates and light exposure to the grapes. Sophisticated enological techniques and an intensive research programme on different clones, have allowed them to valorise the great Tuscan vines, such as Sangiovese.
Regional info.
Castellani's business was established in Montecalvoli at the end of the 19th century. Facilities have changed & evolved over the decades, but throughout the years, their philosophy has remained the same: 'the quality of the wine begins in the vineyard'. The fruit comes from selected Chianti vineyards - with sandy, clayey and calcareous soils.
