Tasting Notes
There is wonderful depth and definition in the glass, along with a round, rich finish. Mint, flowers and herbs reappear on the close, rounding out the wine beautifully.
Vinification Details.
The grapes of Syrah are handpicked in the middle of September. 18-20 day fermentation on skin in small temperature regulated fermentation vats at 21 °C, with daily pump overs. The wine is then aged for 4 months in barriques and subsequently aged in bottles before release.
Producer Information
New to Bibendum in 2007, the Bisceglia wines are all about the concentration and intensity of flavour that you can find in Southern Italy today. Based in the Lavello area known for its fine Aglianico, they have 30ha of prime Basilicata real estate planted on the region's famous, dark volcanic soils. The focus is on local grapes such as Falanghina, Fiano and Aglianico, all of which pack a hefty punch of fruit. With a state of the art cellar at his disposal, winemaker Sergio Paternoster wants for nothing in his quest to create world class wines, the current flagship of which is Italy's only Aglianico del Vulture Riserva.
Regional info.
Obtained from Syrah grapes, Armille is an international wine. The name refers to decorative bronze bracelets dating back to the early and late Middle Ages. These bracelets were found on a large archaeological site within in Agricola Bisceglia's own vineyard situated in the Foragine area. Intensely floral with hints of cherry. Elegant and fruity on the nose and on the palate with a persistent finish.
