Montepeloso and The Super Tuscans
Montepeloso is leading the way amongst the Super Tuscan wines. With sincere intensity, yet bursting with elegance and finesse, Robert Parker asserts that he was "blown away with the intensity that these wines possess".
The wine process employs natural yeasts during fermentation, is bottled without filtration and produced in relatively tiny quantities. Antonio Galloni, The Italian Wine Specialist of the Wine Advocate remarks, "I have been following these wines from proprietor Fabio Chiarellotto for two years. Now that his 2006s are in bottle their true potential is clearly evident. It appears I underestimated these wines from barrel, as all three offerings are showstoppers of the highest level. My scores from bottle are in some cases significantly higher than from barrel. In short, these are marvelous wines that readers will absolutely not want to miss." December 2008.
