Clos des Papes - Lost & Found!

With the Rhone 2010 En Primeur Tasting and campaign fast approaching, I thought I'd touch on one of our favourite producers in Southern Rhone: Clos des Papes.

We always love Clos des Papes because they are animal and wacky and have plenty of personality whatever the vintage.

You may remember the 2007 vintage earned 100-points from Robert Parker after he pronounced it was the "greatest Chateauneuf du Pape made since 1978."

Unfortunately for real fans of Clos des Papes, the ones who rely on it for impressive drinking with their friends, the 2007 vintage now costs nearly twice the price of the 2008 and 2009.

What is the difference? Compared to the 2007 glycerol carnival, the 2008 is an elegant gentleman while the 2009 is sun-kissed fun.

If you would like to secure the last cases of Clos des Papes, please contact me without delay - I hate to disappoint but what is left is available in extremely limited quantities.
