Burgundy 2010: Pierre Morey
The wines by Pierre Morey - head winemaker at Leflaive for over 20 years - have a confident elegance that will make you pause.
With a developed biodynamic/organic philosophy, and adored by his younger peers in Burgundy who call him "the Professor", Pierre Morey has earned the respect that only comes with time.
In an excellent vintage such as 2010, the results are some of the most consistent and heart-pounding of the vintage.
Below you will find wines made from his vineyards and his successful Morey-Blanc negociant label he launched after leaving Domaine Leflaive.
Take a look at the Morey Blanc Meursault Les Boucheres Premier Cru. This is a vineyard he shares with two other big names, Domaine Lafon and Domaine Roulot. Very fine-boned and with precise minerality, read the notes quoted below carefully from JancisRobinson.com as they are very accurate.
Do not hesitate if you love Meursault. This is an excellent (but very small) vintage. The offer must stop once the allocation is finished due to the limited number of bottles to satisfy global demand.
