James Halliday gives top marks to Bibendum's Aussie wineries

James Halliday Australian Wine Guide

James Halliday is one of Australia's top wine writers and his annual Australian Wine Companion is to country's equivalent of Italy's Gambero Rosso, France's Guide Hachette and South Africa's John Platter's Wine Guide.

The 2011 edition of Halliday's guide has just been released and Bibendum's Australian wineries received a host of top scores. As well as rating individual wines, Halliday also gives wineries a rating out of 5 stars.

Here is how Bibendum's Aussie producers fared:

d'Arenberg - 5 stars

Glenguin Estate - 5 stars

Howard Park & MadFish - 5 Stars

Marchand & Burch - 5 Stars

Petaluma - 5 Stars

St Hallett - 5 Stars

Stonier - 5 Stars

Katnook Estate - 4.5 stars
