Chateau de Fonbel
Chateau de Fonbel is a very fine and elegant Grand Cru Classe from St Emilion, Bordeaux. Its prices are relatively low for a cru classe making it a real bargain considering it is owned and managed by Alain Vautier of nearby Chateau Ausone - whose wine-making abilities seem to be unrivalled on the Right Bank.
The estate is consistently well maintained, ensuring quality and age potential; the wine is complex whilst boasting charming black fruit characteristics; make this an attractive and classy wine definitely worthy of its top classification within the St Emilion appellation. The blend is predominantly Merlot creating the trademark soft and silky texture, framed by notes of leather and oak this is a delicious wine hard to resist!
