Clos de Tart
The 7.5 hectares monopole Clos de Tart is situated just south of Morey-St-Denis and has remained intact since its creation in the 12th century. It was granted Grand Cru classification in 1939 and is a historic gem in the world of traditional Burgundy. Sylvain Pitiot took over the domaine in the late 1990s and the ancient vineyard of Clos de Tart is his sole responsibility. The wine is made only from the best plots and oldest vines, whilst a Premier Cru is also made from the younger vines. Pitiot and his team are 100% committed to producing elegant Pinot Noir which lives up to Grand Cru status. In the magnificent surroundings of this ancient property the wines are matured in 100% new oak and are bottled unfiltered. They display a seductive perfumed nose and are harmonious, refined and complex on the palate. Clos de Tart is quite literally unique and must be tasted!
