This Premier Grand Cru Classe A property (one of only two in St Emilion Class A) occupies a unique position in St Emilion and in the whole of France. With its mysterious name, Cabernet Franc dominates vineyards and the chateau enjoys a history of turning out simply fabulous wines! It's no wonder that Cheval-Blanc is to many an irresistible lure; the estate manager Pierre Lurton divides his time with his other chief property; d'Yquem.

The vines are 57% Cabernet Franc, with the balance mostly Merlot. Our experiences are sufficient to show that this property deserves its place among the Bordeaux first growths. This is the cream of the crop in terms of selection in both the vineyard and winery; no expense is spared in handling the fruit and fermentation. Chateau Cheval Blanc is just too big a gem to ignore!
