Catena Zapata

Nicolas Catena has been a pioneer of fine wine production in Argentina, turning Malbec from an also-ran variety into one of the world's most celebrated grapes. He has achieved this through ground-breaking viticulture. Catena's vineyards are among the highest in the world and the cool night-time temperatures and intense UV light high up in the Andes produce wines that are rich, smooth and seductive with supple tannins and wonderfully pure, fresh fruit. Nicolas's career was recognised and rewarded when he was named Decanter Man of the Year in 2009.

Catena Zapata's Single Vineyards are based on an altitude system and are all at different levels of altitude. This is they key to Catena's viticulture.
