Bacio Divino

Winemaker, photographer and exiled Canadian, Claus Janzen is the man behind Bacio Divino, which translates as the divine kiss. His small Napa winery specialises in unusual reds and he makes just 1400 cases made of the proprietary red, which consists primarily of Cabernet Sauvignon, Sangiovese, and Petite Sirah. The idea is that the latter two grapes add complexity to the more familiar rich cassis flavurs of the Cabernet and produce a wine that is genuinely different from its peers. Highly recommended!
