Artadi

Bodegas Artadi is a group of wines from the Rioja region of Spain, produced by a co-operative of 13 growers who have well sited vineyards mainly in the area of Alavesa. The head winemaker is Juan Carlos Lopez de Lacaille; who is well known for his fruit-driven wines that achieve great complexity and finesse. The range includes El Pison - a single vineyard Reserva, along with the Vinas de Gain and Pagos Viejos wines; which are 100% Tempranillo grown in high altitude sites in Rioja Alavesa. There is also a super cuvee deluxe Gran Reserva known as Grandes Anadas.

The results are outstanding; with attention to detail at all stages of the winemaking process, Juan Carlos is clearly a gifted craftsman. His excellent portfolio has captured the attention of winelovers world wide, including excellent reviews from Robert Parker's Wine Advocate: 'Opulent, beautifully delineated, elegant and powerful all at the same time. Impeccably balanced and amazingly long...' - 2004 El Pison, awarded 100pts. Artadi now also produce wines from the Navarra and Alicante regions made from other grape varieties such as Garnacha and Monastrell.
