Argento, which means silver in Latin, is an expression of all that is quintessentially Argentine. Since its launch in 1999, Argento has grown to become the leading brand from Argentina in Europe, and can be found in 48 markets around the world. Argento's winemaking team is run by Gerardo Cirrincione and Silvia Corti and based at Bodegas Argento in the Mendoza region of Argentina. They use the latest in vineyard and cellar technology to create wines which reflect the character typical of Mendoza. The region has a unique desert climate perfect for gentle ripening, and the glacial melt-waters flow from the Andes into the vineyards as natural irrigation. The use of fruit from high altitude, cooler climate vineyards has enabled Argento to create elegant wines with fruit purity and finesse. These wines have broad appeal but also reflect a strong sense of place.
