Bibendum win at IWC - 13/09/2007

We were celebrating with gusto last night at the International Wine Challenge awards. This year, for the first time, we were named 'On Trade Supplier of the Year'. The IWC judging panel said:

"Bibendum's quality range and service is what impressed our judges. And it's not just its loyal band of London customers that benefit, Bibendum's experience and expertise is far reaching throughout the UK."

MD Michael Saunders (pictured) collected the stylish trophy and said:

"I am delighted that the hard work we are doing in the on trade across the UK has been recognised with this award. We have a great team working alongside our customers to sell really interesting wines to an evermore demanding consumer. The On Trade is a real opportunity to widen people's wine experience. I hope and believe that Bibendum is playing an important part in that."

Several Bibendum wines also came out winners last night too. They were:

• Best Victorian Chardonnay - Stonier Reserve Chardonnay 2005

• Best Rhone Blend - Mitchelton Airstrip 2004

• Valdivieso won the Chilean Cabernet Trophy (Maipo) with their 2005 Single Vineyard Cabernet Sauvignon

• Quinta do Vallado also picked up the Douro Trophy for their Touriga Nacional 2005 in its very first vintage!
