Balfour Brut Rose wins English Trophy at IWC - 16/06/2008
First Gold - now the Trophy!
It seems the great news just doesn't stop where Balfour Brut Rose is concerned. This English wine, in its debut vintage, won the only Gold medal at the International Wine Challenge 2008.
But it gets better - today it was announced that Balfour had won the English Trophy at the same competition. The most successful wines in the first stage of the competition were put in front of the judges for a blind second round - and the very best from that tasting were awarded Trophies. It is a huge result for a wine in its first vintage.
Owner Richard Balfour-Lynn said
"My aim is to make the finest Rose Sparkling Wine comparable with the great Rose Champagnes. The passion and enthusiasm shared by everyone involved with Balfour Brut Rose has led to us winning this most prestigious and coveted award, and is a huge step in the right direction to achieving our goal."
