Chateau Lafite is released - 12/06/2008
Hot on the heels of yesterday's first growths comes Lafite, following suit with a sensible drop in price from 2006. This was our favourite First Growth of 2007, made in a more feminine, delicate style than usual, and it comes very highly recommended. Few wines surpassed this in the week of primeur tasting, and it will inevitably create a buzz in the Asian market meaning quantities may be limited - so please let us know as soon as possible if you are interested. Mouton completes the set of Medoc first growths.
Also out now is the re-named Bahans de Haut Brion, now called Clarence de Haut Brion. Offering a taste of the Grand Vin at a considerably lower price, the 2007 is pretty impressive - particularly in a year that has produced few great second wines.
