Bibendum charges off with Spanish awards! - 05/07/2007

Spanish Success for Bibendum

The Charging of the Bulls may be the focus in Spain right now but it's Spain charging ahead at Bibendum with the results just in from the New Wave Spanish Wine Awards. Five Bibendum wines careered onto the list of winners.

The judges, led by Tim Atkin MW, selected 109 of the best from 700 contenders.

Among our regular competition stars like Casa de la Ermita, who secured position 34, 35, and 36 for their Joven 2006, Crianza 2004, and Reserva 2003 respectively, some other Bibendum names ran well to take their share of glory. Jean Leon's Pago Cabernet Sauvignon Reserva 2001 won 42nd and Gran Clos 2002 came 46th on the winners list, confirming once again that they are one of Priorat's rising stars.

A wide spectrum of styles was covered at this year's New Wave Awards, now in its third year.
