Bibendumites triumph in WSET Awards - 12/02/2009
The Wine and Spirits Education Trust (WSET) have just held their Annual Awards and once again Bibendum was well represented. Two Bibendumites got dressed up and went up to collect awards.
Gavin Whittaker was awarded The McNie Tasting Trophy for the graduate submitting the best Unit 3 tasting paper. Jennifer Docherty won The Moet and Chandon Scholarship and with it, a study visit to Champagne. Both of these are Diploma level awards that establish them firmly amongst the elite of WSET students.
Of those Bibendum staff and customers who take WSET exams, the pass rate for the Intermediate Certificate is 93% compared to a global average of 90%. For the Advanced certificate the pass rate is 86.6%, 4% more than the global average.
During the ceremony Ian Harris, Chief Executive of the WSET, also singled out Bibendum for its success at WSET qualifications and forward looking and innovative approach to training customers.
