Bibendum signs up with world's finest rose producer - 03/08/2010

Chateau d'Esclans is the Rolls Royce of rose. The prince of pink wines. Owned by Sacha Lichine, it produces outstanding wines from their vineyards at La Motte en Provence.

Sacha Lichine, is the son of Bordeaux legend Alexis Lichine, and the family owned Margaux property Chateau Prieure-Lichine from 1952 to 1999. Sacha purchased Chateau d'Esclans in 2006 and has since transformed the quality of the wine, focusing almost exclusively on producing rose wines (there is now also one red wine).

After tasting the 2007 vintage, Jancis Robinson described the Chateau d'Esclans bottling as "the best Pink to have come my way." High praise indeed.

We will be initially listing the Whispering Angel 2009, Chateau d'Esclans Rose 2008, Les Clans Rose 2008 and Garrus Rose 2008.
