Social Media and Wine Seminar at the LIWF - 07/04/2009
This year the London International Wine Fair will host its first ever seminar on the multitude of opportunities offered to the wine industry by the advent of social media. It's titled "Wine and the web: the business of getting Social"
This is a really hot topic in both the digital and traditional print press and will engage with all sectors of the trade. This ground-breaking seminar, which all LIWF visitors are free to attend, will be co-hosted by Bibendum, Catavino Marketing and The Wine Conversation.
It takes place in the South Gallery Rooms 11 and 12 on Wednesday 13th May from 1pm to 2.30pm
What will we be talking about?
If you don't understand or engage with social media, then you are missing valuable opportunities to generate new business. Tools such as blogging, Social Networks, Twitter and Linkedin are an easy way to build relationships and networks with consumers, businesses and influencers.
As web usage evolves, traditional boundaries are blurred and communication becomes truly global, companies need to rethink how they communicate their brand. In this seminar we'll take an in-depth look at how social media has developed in response to this, starting off with a comparison of the US and UK and what we can learn from our transatlantic neighbours.
We'll hear how Europe and the UK are catching up and how particular cultural challenges can be overcome. Finally we'll get down to the nitty-gritty and show what Bibendum in the UK is doing and find out how it has harnessed the power of social media to build brand awareness, develop networks and relationships with key influencers and ultimately use social media to grow its business.
There will also be a demonstration of some key Social Media tools that will allow others to participate in this discussion and ask questions from around the exhibition floor and around the world.
By the end, the question running around your head won't be "should my business get into social media?" but rather "when and how?"
