Bibendum Wins the IWC Corporate Social Responsibility Award 2010 - 08/09/2010
The annual International Wine Challenge awards dinner took place last night and Michael Saunder's Bibendum's MD, was called up on stage as we won the Corporate Social Responsibility Award.
This award recognises the wine merchant who has done the most in areas such as charity fundraising, the environment and responsible drinking. Following on from being named UK Green Company of the Year at The Drinks Business Green Awards in February, this is further endorsement of all the fantastic work Bibendum does above and beyond our core business of selling wine.
A big thank you is owed to everyone involved in Vivid - Bibendum's Envitonmental committee, The Corkscrew - our Charity Committee our focus on ethical trading and our work with the Campaign for Smarter Drinking.
In addition to this win, we were also shortlisted for On Trade Supplier of the Year, Agent of the Year and Wine Educator of the Year.
It was a good night for one of suppliers too. The Lion Nathan team, led by Matt Roberts, were on hand to collect Coonawarra Trophy for the Petaluma Coonawarra Cabernet/Merlot 2007 and the gong for Great Value Champion Red which went to Waitrose Reserve Shiraz 2008, which is made by Toby and Stuart at St Hallett.
All in all, a very good evening.
